What’s that? It’s a satellite treasure hunt where you follow a global positioning system (GPS) to find hidden boxes of goodies at special places all over the world. Sounds geeky doesn’t it? Well maybe it is, but its also great fun!
Shropshire is the first County in Britain where you can borrow a GPS for a day and follow a trail of caches through bits of its best countryside.
In fact there are three trails, and they are brilliant fun for families and great for adventurous adults.
Some other caches have a book to sign or a camera to take your picture to prove you have found the cache. In Shropshire there are many caches, three listed below are from the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and after this if you've been bitten by the bug doing one of our trails why not get involved in the real thing - you can buy a GPS from around £80, visit the GEOcaching website www.geocaching.com to find out more.
